Canagan
The brief
With Canagan we created a unique name and brand that stood out in a crowded market place.
Since launch in 2012 it has gone on to global success.
The jumping off point for this brand was the product. The recipe is based on the proportions of meat to carbohydrate that dogs would eat in the wild, so we wanted to create an epic and ancient sounding name.
‘Canagan’ is an ancient celtic word for wolf cub. The brand flowed outward from here with inspiration taken from the awe inspiring countryside of the British Isles.
Consumers reacted very positively and the product flew off the shelves.
5 years on and Canagan is sold in 23 countries around the world with a turnover of £24 million per year, and has spawned a host of imitators.
It goes to show the strength of a good name.
